Spreadsheets in ClausionESEF Reporting Tool

ClausionESEF Reporting Tool is an Excel spreadsheet application. There are five sheet types:

  1. Extension sheet

  2. Mapping sheet

  3. Entry sheets

  4. Hidden sheets

  5. Log sheet

Entry and hidden sheets can occur several times in the spreadsheet with different names.

The entry sheets are the most familiar sheets for an accounting person. These sheets contain the actual figures and texts to be tagged in the report as well as the visual outlook of the output report.

All sheets in a ClausionESEF Reporting Tool workbook are entry sheets, except the ExtensionMappingLog and hidden sheets. When the sheets are hidden by the Excel hiding function or contain the word "hidden" in their name, they are not displayed in the final report. The Log sheet is detected as the last sheet starting with the word "log" (case-insensitive). In other words, it could also be renamed for example as "Logging" or "Logs". This means that if you have an entry sheet or hidden sheet beginning with word "Logistics", this has to be placed on the left side of the Log sheet.

The report creation of entry spreadsheets supports formatting excluding conditional formatting. However, conditional formatting may be useful in hidden or grouped columns as it is still visible in Excel. Images may be embedded into the entry spreadsheets. Some more complex formatting is transformed into images when converted to XHTML such as shapes. When rows and columns are hidden from entry sheets, the cells in them are not displayed in the final report.
