Arranging Units in Hierarchy

You can arrange the dimension units in the hierarchies in the Units view.

  • You can drag-and-drop units to new locations in the hierarchy, either under a unit or between units. For moving a unit to a new place under the same consolidation unit, you can also use the arrow buttons (Move up) (Move down).

You cannot change an input unit which contains data into a consolidation unit. This means, for example, that if Unit A contains data for the Budget and Estimate data types, then you cannot move any other unit connected to the Budget or Estimate data type under Unit A.

  • To remove a unit from the hierarchy, select the unit and click under Units not in use. To add a removed unit back to the hierarchy, click .

The BWNonAllocatedItem unit cannot be added to a hierarchy but is always located under Units not in use.

All units do not need to be used in all hierarchies. Hierarchies are also year-specific, which means that a unit may be used in the same hierarchy in one year, but not in another.
