Assigning Data Type Rights to User Roles

Location: User Roles (task ID: UserRoleMnt) > Data Type Permissions

With data type permissions admin user may restrict access rights for certain data type for users who by licence type have general read/write access (normal/input users). On the Data Type Permissions tab, select the permissions you want to assign to a role from the drop-down lists in the Permissions column.

  • Read/write permission: Users with this role can view data entered to the data type and enter data to it.

  • Read permission: Users with this role can view data entered to the data type.

  • No permissions: Users with this role cannot enter data to the data type or view data entered to it.

If a user has several roles, the most unrestrictive permissions apply. For example, if a user has four roles, one of which has 'Read/write permission' for the data type, one 'Read permission' and two 'No permissions', 'Read/write permission' applies. For a user to have no permissions for a data type, all of the user's roles must have 'No permissions' for it.
