Removing Accounts and Account Hierarchies

Before you edit or remove accounts or account hierarchies, take a backup of the account hierarchies (click Save to File). When you have a backup, you can restore the accounts and account hierarchies to their previous state if needed.

Removing the entire account hierarchy

Select the account hierarchy you want to remove and click Delete.

You must not remove account hierarchies with ACCHIER prefix for content packages. You can check the account hierarchies for a package from the Environment overview document.

Removing account structures from the account hierarchy

Select the account structure and click Disconnect.

If there are sum levels in other account hierarchies above the level you disconnect, you receive a notification upon the disconnect with options Edit and Add. When you select Edit, the change applies to all account hierarchies. When you select Add, the change applies only to the account hierarchy in question.

If the account includes saved data in the database, the account cannot be removed.

Select the account you want to remove and click Delete.

Accounts removed from account hierarchies move to the NOTINUSE hierarchy where all accounts not in use are located.
